The Trust operates under the guidance and inspiration of Padma Shri Dilshad Husain, one of Moradabad’s most esteemed master artisans and cultural figures. His vision—to preserve India’s rich craft heritage while extending meaningful support to those in need—forms the cornerstone of our mission.
At UWDT, we work to empower artisans, strengthen education, enhance health and hygiene, and implement welfare and relief initiatives that uplift the most vulnerable sections of society. Our core focus areas include Artisans’ Welfare, Education, Healthcare, Skill Development, and Community Support, ensuring holistic and sustainable development for all.

In the early months of our work, UWDT met a young artisan family in Moradabad struggling to manage daily expenses due to inconsistent craft orders.
Through a small support initiative, we provided essential materials and connected them with local buyers. This early intervention helped the family stabilize their income and regain confidence in their craft.

During a community visit, our team met a 9-year-old boy who had stopped attending school due to financial limitations.
